I’ve been working on this for a few weeks. Finished up the final touches yesterday and I am very excited to launch this new project today.
I’ve searched high & low… and always been disappointed there are not more photos of Jackie Robinson when he played college baseball at UCLA. Admittedly, baseball was his least successful venture during his time in Westwood, but you would think there would be something more than him in the 1940 Bruins team photo.
Inspired by the art and style of the great Gary Cieradkowski, I decided to create a set of art prints showing Jackie wearing the four baseball uniforms he is best remembered: UCLA, Kansas City Monarchs, Montreal Royals and Brooklyn Dodgers. If you’ve not checked out Gary’s work, you should. His stuff is great!
I printed these yesterday for the first time & they look better than I imagined. Each print measure 8 inches by 8 inches. For now, you can purchase single team specific prints or the entire set of four. I am contemplating creating smaller versions and/or standard baseball cards depending on the response.
