Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. attended Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati (the same high school as his future teammate Barry Larkin). In 1987, he was named the U.S. high school baseball player of the year. Griffey hit .478 with 17 home runs in his two seasons of high school baseball. In 1987 he was selected as the 1st overall pick in the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners.
