The Philadelphia Phillies are going the World Series.
Prior to the season, I hoped this generation of Phillies would finally make the postseason. As the baseball season ramped, that hope faded. Then they got hot, but my expectations were still low. The season ended with them sneaking into the last wildcard spot.
I had little expectation they would beat the Cardinals in a 3 game series, but they did. I had NO expectation they could beat the Braves, but they did. By the time the NLCS started, I didn’t know what to expect. In the NLCS against the Padres, it became clear to me this team was on an exhilarating roll.
At this point, I am just happy the Phillies are still playing.
